Four of these characters haven’t been assigned a team just yet, and it’s up in the air if the remaining five launch characters and six DLC characters will be new or returning. The two new characters so far are both in Team Rival, leaving the rest of the roster to fill out the different competing teams.
While many are classic characters who have been in most or all King of Fighters games, others are newer and continue the story started in KOF 14. This leaves 32 of the announced cast as returning characters from a wide variety of past King of Fighters games. The game follows in The King of Fighters XIV’s footsteps as the second game in the series to be in 3D. The King of Fighters 15 is slated to release on Februfor PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows 10, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. This brings the grand total up to 45 characters if no additional DLC is distributed.
Two DLC packs have also been confirmed, each including on team of three characters. The game’s roster will include 39 characters at launch, 34 of whom have been revealed so far. The King of Fighters XV’s cast features many returning fan favorite characters.
